Day Four

So yesterday I was pretty impressed with how mobile I was. I went to the doctor’s office and got my bandages sorted, which allowed me to shower. I moved around the house pretty freely. Overall, I was pretty functional, considering I can’t lift anything or raise my arms very far. Luckily, Mike (known at the office as Boyfriend) was here to help with all the pesky tasks of life that involve arms.

I was doing okay. Until I tried to get off the couch at my daughter’s bedtime, and couldn’t seem to do it. Oops. May have overdone a bit. Turns out that your chest muscles are involved in the whole “standing up” thing, and by the end of the day, they were done. No more low-slung seating in the evening for me.

But I’m bouncing back.

And after a morning nap, I had cookies for breakfast, made by my daughter (with help from her dad.)

And this afternoon, I got unicorn cookies! My house is starting to look a little like the set for a My Little Pony movie, which is amazing. I love it.

And I just had some leftovers from last night’s meal train, to accompany my much hated antibiotics. The drugs go down better with food made with extra thoughtfulness, I’m quite sure.

I feel very loved.

  1. Who beat Sumit/I to Unicorn Cookies? Sumit bought the cookie cutter, but we hadn’t got to the backing yet! When you need more cookies, let us know! Otherwise, we’ll just have to give you the cookie cutter.

    1. It appears that my sister managed to find a place that will deliver unicorn cookies in a basket. 🙂 But I’m sure they won’t last long, there are only a few and I’ll be sharing with the kids and Mike.

  2. Your Loved and Missed. Yes, let us know if you are low on Cookies as we would hate for you to NOT have your breakfast food. I don’t make Unicorn ones but I make a MEAN Butterscotch/Chocolate chip cookie. I used to add oatmeal and feed them to my kids for breakfast when they were little. I would tell them they had eggs, butter and sugar all the important food groups to keep them strong and growing.

    1. I believe we are running out of home-baked cookies… We haven’t brought ourselves to mess with the unicorn bouquet yet, too cute.

  3. Just wanted to let you know I’m thinking of you. I appreciate the updates, and your ever present sense of humor. I’m happy to hear that you’re doing well, and you have a good support system to help you out. Continue to focus on healing and getting rest, and don’t overdo it!
