Kate has Cancer

Let’s just start with that basic fact for tonight.

I have breast cancer. It’s been caught early, and it’s very treatable.

I’ve already learned that you have to put those two sentences together at all times. But it’s still going to take some practice to be able to say it out loud. This is kind of what it sounds like inside my head:

Mouth Talking: “I have breast cancer. It’s been caught early, and it’s very treatable.”
Brain: “What?!?!! I have CANCER? When did we decide to do this? Breast, what are you doing down there?. . .”

This is why I say the words, “I have breast cancer. It’s been caught early, and it’s very treatable,” and then I just don’t know what my next words are supposed to be. The brain is busy yelling down my spinal cord, and mouth only has that one line prepared.

I’ll work on preparing my second line tomorrow.
