It’s almost here – somehow it seems like it both took a long time arriving and also that the time flew by before I was ready.
A few questions have been coming up, so I thought to answer them here:
1. How do I send cookies, pound cake, unicorn cupcakes, things in the mail, etc.?
If you want to send treats but don’t want to commit to bringing a whole meal, there’s not really a way to do that on the sign-up calendar. So I have put my home address on the community page. (I can’t post it here, because this site is regularly spammed by bots.)
I like treats and presents.
2. How will you know if I’m OK?
I will ask my boyfriend to post a brief status after surgery to this blog. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post my own status messages soon after.
3. When will I be back at work?
When I feel like it? Just kidding. I expect to make a “soft return” the week of Thanksgiving, as that’s when I should be medically cleared to return. If I turn out to be a slow healer, I’ll post a new return date on the blog at some point.
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and kind thoughts. For those of you at the ATL/STE workshop, my unicorn piñata is going to have a place of honor in the house until I regain the arm strength it would take to break it. It’s now an incentive for recovery.
Kate
